Girly Girl

Most of you may have already heard, but we are having a GIRL! (No birds or puppies, thank goodness! Ha. Refer to post below.) She is healthy and normal from what the ultrasound technician says, although the tech couldn't give us the official thumbs up. We'll need to get that at my next appointment in two weeks from our doctor. The ultrasound was such an amazing experience. There's a little person in there!!! Baby Girl was very cooperative although she did have her legs right above her face the majority of the time- at one point we thought she was going to do a complete back flip! She's very limber!! (She did not get that from Reg, that's for sure.) We got some great first photos of her legs and arms, feet and hands (10 fingers, 10 toes!) and her torso and also some great profile shots. SO very sweet. Also, we got a few very skeletal 3D images of her face- although her legs were partially in the way! But she sure is cute...already! She's already very strong, as the technician said she could tell that the baby was trying to breathe on her own- something about the cerebellum telling the diaphragm to "practice" breathing (as the lungs aren't formed yet)... it is pretty early for that, she said, and that's a good sign. Anyway, it was really cool. She weighs 1lb exactly and forgive me, I cannot remember how long she is. Now we have to narrow down our Girl Name List. Not an easy task I assure you. We are very attached to all of the names we've picked out!!

Still waiting to hear on the house. (Oh, we didn't get the first one we put an offer on, but it's all good.) We are excited about the other house but as it's a "Short Sale", we are playing the waiting game now. It has to be approved through two banks that the sellers are working with- it was already approved by the first bank and now has moved on to the second. We hear that it is on the last "level" of approvals there though. What a process. Ugh. We're ready to get everything settled and I (of course) am ready to get that nursery ready immediately if not sooner! But it'll all work out- we are just so excited, happy and blessed with the healthy Baby Girl news and are enjoying talking about it and just the new-ness of it all. Cheers!
