Well, we can't believe it but our little beautiful bundle is 1 month and 2 days old. Time is just flying by. We had her one month check up today and Ainsley is doing wonderfully! Her 2nd round of blood tests came back perfect and she weighs 9 pounds exactly and is 21 1/2 inches long now...such a big girl!! Really, though, she is still just a little peanut...and the sweetest thing ever. We are truly blessed and couldn't be more proud. She has a good set of lungs on her and she uses them quite a bit when unhappy- just like her mommy! But mostly Ainsley is a really good baby and is very happy. She has a really strong neck (has from the first week) and can hold her head up pretty well already when leaning on Mommy or Daddy's shoulder. We have started our tummy time on the fun mat MeMe gave her (only about 5 minutes a day but she is already lifting her shoulders and head up so well!) and she has already started trying to swat at all the colorful, noisy items that hang down from the top of it. We've made a few trips around the neighborhood in the stroller but it's really been too cold to do that too often yet. I can't wait to take her on little outings more. A few "oooohs" and "aaahs" have been heard and there is a lot of grunting, groaning, rooting and a sort of wheezing when she is sleeping- which had me worried for a little while there but turns out it is totally normal (as many of you parents may know!). Basically. she is perfectly normal but absolutely EXTRAORDINARY to us! We cannot give her enough kisses and hugs and love...and my heart just breaks when she cries- I know, babies cry- but I hate to hear it! She is our perfect little gift from God.
